Glutathione reduced

Glutathione is synthesised in the body from the amino acids L-cysteine, L-glutamic acid and L-glycine.

It is a potent water-soluble antioxidant. In its reduced form, it is used to neutralise peroxides using its free thiol group. In healthy tissues, most of the glutathione exists in reduced form.

Besides, glutathione can promote detoxification by binding to various synthetic toxic molecules and facilitating their removal from the body with urine.

Main dietary sources of glutathione are: broccoli, garlic, and avocado.
